GUM DISEASE
DENTAL CARE FOR YOUR FAMILY
Gum disease or periodontal disease is inflammation of the gums that gradually pull the gums from the teeth. The resulting spaces become infected with bacteria that damage the supporting bone. The infection causes gums to bleed and can lead to tooth loss.
Our dentists here at Diamond Dentistry specialize in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of periodontal disease. Depending on the severity of the gum disease, we offer a periodontal treatment to clean the bacteria and reduce the infection.
The non-surgical treatment includes scaling, root planing, and medications. Surgical treatments include flap surgery, bone grafting, soft tissue grafts, enamel matrix derivative application, and guided tissue regeneration. We work closely with a periodontist if surgery is needed.
